Responsible Gaming
Last updated 19 August 2026
Real-money games are entertainment that costs money. They are not a way to earn income, recover a loss or solve a financial problem, and they are for adults aged 18 and over only.
Before you deposit
- Decide the amount you are willing to lose, and treat it as already spent
- Set a deposit limit in the app before your first deposit, not after
- Never play with money needed for rent, food, education, medical costs or repayments
- Do not borrow money to play, and do not play on credit
- Read the bonus and wagering terms so you know what is withdrawable and what is not
While you play
- Set a time limit and stop when it is reached, win or lose
- Take regular breaks; long unbroken sessions lead to worse decisions
- Never increase stakes to win back a loss — chasing losses is the single most costly habit
- Do not play when upset, bored, tired or drinking
Warning signs
Stop and reassess if you recognise any of these:
- You spend more than you planned, repeatedly
- You hide how much you play from family or friends
- You play to escape stress or low mood
- You borrow money, sell things or miss payments to keep playing
- Time spent playing is affecting work, study, sleep or relationships
Tools that help
Apps in this category normally provide deposit limits, session reminders, cool-off periods and self-exclusion. Use them early rather than as a last resort. You can also block gambling transactions with your bank or UPI provider, and install a blocking app on your phone.
Getting support
If gambling has stopped being entertainment, talk to someone. In India, the national mental health helpline Tele-MANAS is available free on 14416, and KIRAN on 1800-599-0019, both around the clock in multiple languages. Gamblers Anonymous runs meetings in several Indian cities and online. A doctor or a counsellor can also refer you to local support.
Legality
Rules for real-money online games differ by country and, in India, by state, and they have changed significantly in recent years. It is your responsibility to check what applies where you live before you register or deposit.
